Was able to capture this earlier today - coming along well!

While there are designated greenway east of Ninth Line, the extension will plow through unprotected areas, which will no doubt encourage sprawl up in those areas. I understand that it is not meant to be urban, but 2-3 lanes in each direction with median? Bordering Cornell, a new-urbanist...

Planned sprawl in Markham, or should I say Neighbourhood Area... And then there's the extension of the monster that is Donald Cousens Parkway... Here's what it looks like now: (hurts every time I see it.) Markham: The city that strives for urban, yet allows this garbage. :(

View of the Markham Road "skyline" (if you can even call it that :D) looking west. The Arthouse didn't turn out too bad after all. Should seem fuller when the Mark/UNION/Imperial Gate is completed.

Don't have any pictures, but the building has been topped off.. and I must say: It looks sooo much better than the horrific rendering given to us before. Not amazing, but decent. Like UV2, the building sits a couple metres back from Markham Road.

I agree. I feel that the base of the west elevation is throwing it off, it looks too "vertically stretched" (if you catch my drift :D) compared to the rest of the development, and I don't know - maybe it's the the use of precast and the tinted glass that is just overdone in terms of the entire...

Was at the Cineplex the other day... the retail along with the rising Signature across is making the corner of Birchmount and Entreprise look increasingly exciting.

Will be interesting to see how this one turns out. Keeping fingers crossed....

Is this project/proposal dead? Absolutely nothing has been done at the site....

View from the 407 at night... please tell me the surface parking lot behind the Cineplex will be at least somewhat removed?

I feel like Downtown Markham needs a few tall point towers to establish it as a true DOWNTOWN... like Expo right now in Vaughan for example.

Was passing by on the 407 recently and noticed that the Mariott Hotel structure is about 3-4 storeys high.
