Likewise. I remember cycling through there in the 80s and 90s and the industrial smell was unique.
You can still catch it on a warm summer day near Cherry and Lakeshore right near the railway tracks.
Check out this 1960s shot of The Hearn with its massive coal pile and multiple stacks before the super stack. Insane by today's environmental standards. Wow.

If it's ultra reliable, I'd agree I'd trade some speed for reliability for sure. But it will likely be both slow and unreliable. Much like the current streetcars I'm sure.
I wonder of all the public transit serving Toronto, which is most reliable from best to worse?
