you know the more this goes on the more i question Alto's planning, ive only ever seen opposition to the southern route, not much for the northern route. Theres no way theyre still considering it right?
I mean for an area as high value as the land around the rogers center. that parking lot is very undervalued. im imagining some kind of commercial area. Granted the rogers center is underused in the winter but still would be very popular like the rec room and st louis on west side
Expropriation always means reimbursement. that part will happen. but as far as im concerned. it doesnt matter if ford pays us a billion for it. I dont think anyone would be happy
I mean id be skeptical too, but If i missed something this is the 1st use of the "special economic zones". the thing that excempts basically all ontario laws to develop infrastructure.
If the really wanted to, anything environmental can be steamrolled over
because we would buy trains for like 13-15 years then we sell 2nd hand. thats before production and shipping times. realistically like 10 years by the time new trains get delivered
I mean, you can have a comprehensive plan. but it still could be a complete gongshow. like imagine if go trains had a shutdown or something. or the streetcar got shutdown for some reason.
Was it 2 years ago when the government proposed cutting the intermediary stops. Its no longer exclusively an airport line, its a commuter train.
The idea of buying more trains is a bit suprising though
