    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I've heard it's basically going to be Metrolinx office space, not clear exactly how the community centre part is going to work

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Off topic for this thread, but Line 5 can't be extended due to Line 2's extension being in the way. Doesn't matter if it's at grade or not. I'm hoping that "Line 7" just turns into: a) Sheppard Extension Phase 2 to Malvern along the protected SRT extension ROW b) Upgraded BRT on the existing...

Not sure how feasible it is but like Dufferin Station, indicating exits to access NB/SB stops would be a major help. I guess it's something you figure out after one time... but at Fairbank I took the wrong exit and just caught the 29 by a second.

I think it's just a generic colour. On this note, station staff told me that MX didn't install any water or gas hookups in the retail spaces as a value engineering thing so none of the "anchor tenants" (i.e. Tim's, McDonalds) want to rent there... Not promising for any restaurant/cafes generally...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

The TTC order was made in 2021, the same year that Bombardier was acquired by Alstom. From what I've heard (through the grapevine), five years out, they are not interested in taking on more Flexity orders. Can also read between the lines on the mysterious delay to a supplemental Line 5 ECWE...

Line 5 is "too cooked" for them to even try it out...

None of these other stations are less than a 5 min walk (400m) to the next station... Removing Hakimi-Lebovic, you still have the two neighbouring stations within the Golden Mile big box retail node.

Trains will be running in both directions every 3.5 minutes during peak come May. That could mean trains crossing the DVP every 1-2 minutes (combined from both directions). I'm not sure it would be so easy to add extra time to the following cycle, when you could have trains at basically every...

Maybe I just got lucky, but the on opening day I ignored Google Maps' instructions and took Line 5 to visit a friend. I'm a fast walker, but I got there a full 20 minutes faster than it calculated. It wanted me to take an extremely infrequent bus from Line 1, which I probably would have missed...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

man, people love to ragebait here 😅. No one is saying the line should be slow. all I'm saying is that people are in here complaining that the LRT is slower than a non-stop highway GO bus that can go from Line 1 to Humber College in 20 mins. let's remove all the stops along the LRT and see if...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Flexities have been retired, and having just overcome all sorts of train-related issues to open Line 5, I wouldn't be shocked if they are anxious about running a mixed fleet and a bit paralyzed about next steps.

I checked the runtimes and Eglinton to Keeledales is around 16 mins over 6.5km. that is 24.4km/h, not 21. So very close to Line 2 (but yes, on wider station spacing).

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Part of the problem is the main demographic of people obsessing over this do not live along Finch. They are obsessed with end to end travel time, when the line is meant to service people living in between the two ends of the line. As noted, no LRT is beating a 20-min trip on the highway. An...

It's actually 408 secs = 6.8 mins. Compare with Line 2 which is 6 minutes for the exact same trip from Bathurst to Bloor-Yonge. Really not much difference.

Take the Kitchener GO line from Mt Dennis to Dundas West. If the timing isn't going to work out, the 989 from Mt Dennis to Keele is the only express option.
