responsibilty lies with both pedestrians and drivers. I drive at least 3 hrs per day in toronto and I see drivers blow through red lights,speeding etc..every type of driver young old,male, female. I also see pedestrians running across the road at any given point,walking on red lights etc...

maybe not the best idea..but rather than fancy parks,boardwalks etc...just plain old green space. well maintained grass and trees would be less expensive than boardwalks,paved walkways..etc.. there's lots city land where they could just make into simple green areas...

it's related simply because some people have mentioned that improving public transit would alleviate traffic issues by enticing people to use ttc. If a politicians aim is to satisfy their career goals, or even just to stay in power so that they MAY be able to do "the right thing" as you say...

I totally agree,but, if one doesn't get votes,then one can't stay in power. I am suspicious of anyone in politics, I don't think their motivation is about doing what's right for the majority,it's doing what's right for themselves. It's a career.

it's a money thing..think of how many "benefit" when a car is purchased. The car dealership,insurance companies,the ontario government (registration,taxes, fuel companies etc..),tire producers,mechanics, etc...eventhough the government makes it look like they want people to use public...
