Are all the podiums still above ground parking garages? That was the worst part of all the previous proposals, the entire street level public realm on all sides was basically above ground parking garages.

Also confirms that they did shift the bridge position west by about 100m. Very disappointing. Original alignment was going to make this a pretty direct pedestrian crossover point between Queen (via Abell) and King (Joe Shuster). The new positioning has both access points on two dead-end...

Every single venue in Toronto has open calendar dates, nothing is 100% booked. Top venues might have weekends fully booked a year out but so many venues are idle during weekdays. There is absolutely no reason that esports needs a dedicated venue, it's 100% a gimmick, esport events can be hosted...

Ya, i hope this dies. This was a trojan horse project, using esports as a gimmick to push through a terrible hotel on exhibition lands. The city needs to smarten up, especially after Hotel X next door, complete disaster.

The cost to the tax payer is $400-500million parking garage and $150-200million in servicing infrastructure (utilities, water, sewer, etc...). If the Ontario government is so eager to pour over half a billion into Ontario Place lands to support a private business, then they could take a fraction...
