Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

Earlier this year, the CEO of Alto said the following: “No other stops are being developed as we speak,” Imbleau said in response to The Intelligencer’s questions. “The seven stops were actually decided quite a long time ago. It’s within a mandate that that we got from the government,” he...

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

The new UP Express schedule is showing up in Google Maps if you set the date to next week. From Mount Dennis it's 15 minutes to Pearson and 13 minutes to Union. The end-to-end trip is now scheduled as 28 minutes.

Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | Metrolinx

Agreed. The two ends of the line are too suburban and too far from each other to make sense. VMC is more than 8km from Yonge! Even in the pre-TYSSE plan that connected the lines across Steeles, its a long way to go and I don't think it would have been worth it for many riders to go "up and over".

Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | Metrolinx

Langstaff GO is already located adjacent to the future "Bridge" subway station (another great name) which is where the connection to the YRT Highway 7 buses and GO 407 buses will be. That is where the bus terminal should be moved to in order to consolidate all modes. If that happens, High Tech...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Since there's already hourly trains crossing the Bayview Jct into Hamilton, you may as well extend those same trains to St. Catharines rather than forcing a transfer at West Harbour.

    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

Here's the existing Jane Express route, which goes all the way to Hwy 407: Dedicated turn lanes and signals might be the biggest improvement then.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

There are plenty of "technical" differences but in terms of less technical stuff that the average subway map reader would notice, I would say: No on-board fare payment on Finch West Wider stop spacing on Finch West (~600m compared to ~250m on St. Clair)

    General railway discussions

On the route to NYC, you have to get off the train with all of your baggage and go through customs which is a 1-2 hour delay. Even though you get back on the same train, it's not exactly "direct".

    Hamilton Confederation GO Station | ?m | 1s | Metrolinx

It's only 9 km between stations so hopefully it's even quicker than 15 minutes for a non-stop service. If the train can average 55 km/h, that trip would be 10 minutes.

Those numbers are about the floor space of the house, not the area of the lot.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Apple Maps arial imagery shows this very clearly. I think this data is from early/mid 2023 because the gap between the south two tracks (where the platform will go) has been filled in for a quite a while now..

    Hamilton Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I completely agree. These arguments tend to be made either in bad faith or due to a lack of understanding. Glossing over all of the intermediate stops in a line is pretty egregious. McMaster students travelling downtown is an obvious trip, as is McMaster staff travelling from their homes in...

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

It's more or less the exact same fare integration system we've had for a decade plus. Half a dozen local agencies have been integrated with each other and GO since at least 2014. It's never been "confusion" or technical limitations that's kept the TTC out of it for so long.
