Some good fleet news: 15 diesel buses should start coming in this month and 6 battery-electric buses should start coming in June.
Hopefully they new buses allow for more service on some routes.
Good luck to exo with their CRRC bilevels if SEPTA’s experiences is any indication. Thank God Metrolinx has stuck with the Bombardier Bilevel.

I wonder if this is mostly due to college and university routes. If it is, I don’t really feel that impressed since it doesn’t necessarily mean people are choosing to use DRT.
The MTA usually tests small batches of buses, especially new products on the market. They also have a small order of electric buses from Nova and a small order of electric coaches from Van Hool. Though the latter may be jeopardized by Van Hool’s current financial situation.
I’m kind of getting further off topic, but Solaris has the interest of a major transit agency in the US (the MTA). I’m told Solaris is currently looking for manufacturing facilities and has an eye one one in California.
My understanding is there will be 15 diesel buses due this year, but that was an order placed before the fire. DRT ordered 13 replacements diesel buses last year after the fire. Those are supposed to come this year too. But both orders may be delayed because Nova Bus is very backlogged right now.
The way they’ve named stations on the Eglinton line after neighbourhoods is dumb too. An example: Chaplin is in the middle of Forrest Hill, but the Forest Hill stop is actually right at the edge of the boundary with the adjacent Cedarvale.
