Agreed. A great example of a development that fits nicely with the existing streetscape in form and colour. It almost appears that the three pieces were designed together.

I like that this proposal has a seamless streetscape with the adjacent property to the west and uses similar materials. Far too often the ground level design is out of synch with the surrounding streetscape.

People need to travel more often. Never seen a pond around the world that didn't have a layer on moss on the bottom. As Tigertail said the photos of the pond on the day it was filled are misleading. And yes slow news day for sure.

Agreed but many of these parks are built using parkland dedication and Section 37 money (of which there is an insane amount available downtown). Could they not allocate money from these sources for long term maintenance?

This is my issue with Toronto parks. We have been revitalizing many old spaces and building new spaces over the last decade or so - which is great. However the lack of maintenance/upkeep is appalling. One thing I can say about cities big and small in the US is that they take care of their public...

Honest question as I have no background in construction or design. What are some Toronto based examples of buildings that have used better materials that it would be obvious are better quality builds?I know economics (high land prices) play a big role in the design of buildings that end up being...

    Toronto Hyatt Centric / The 203 Residences on Jarvis | 108.2m | 32s | Manga | Arcadis

Hotels in the Jarvis corridor have come on gone over the years as I witnessed living in the area late 80s and early 90s - Best Western, Ramada, Hilton Garden Inn, the Grand etc. Stayed at the Grand many times. Hotels downtown are generally located from Yonge westward with very little options...

Fascinated by all of the on site pics. How are you guys getting access or is there another website (Waterfront) that is monitoring progress?

The new site plan drawings have been uploaded on city website. Not a fan of the redesign. IMO the previous design was more organic and had some character. I don't see much detail on the design on the streetscape in the new drawings which I think is essential to this project.

It's like an MC Escher drawing. so the sidewalk is too high meaning the building wasn't set right? the planters are level with the sidewalk but step down street twice. It's one thing for the original grading plan to be wrong but it was review through planning and permit approvals a few times. It...

I think this is a very reasonable development for this site. With the Tribute building and the Danny project started some new life coming to the area.

Agreed - the retail is improved especially with patio space on east side but why so bland on 2-7?

This site is just outside the new Don Mills Crossing Secondary Plan. It is designated "General Employment" in the OP.

It's down. Trying to get the scoop as I work in the building next to it at 15 Gervais. Interesting to see what's next.
