Toronto Worklofts + Flatiron Lofts in the Film District | ?m | 11s | Lamb Dev Corp | Core Architects

In the renderings it was red brick - not that I'm complaining, since it looks awesome.

I think it depends on which renderings you're referring to. Earlier ones were certainly more red in hue but the tone became darker as time went on. What was finally selected seems reasonably close to this image:

I don't know why this project doesn't get more attention. Maybe it's not tall enough? :p

Excuse the crappy pics. Had to use my phone since a certain someone hasn't given me my camera back yet. Occupancy should be within the next couple months I'd guess. Drywall is up in most of the units.

Monolithic, jarring, forboding.

I live close by and have seen these rise. The first three words think of are:

Appropriate, confident, contextual.

This development enhances Cawlaw and is sensitive to the area's low-rise nature and industrial past. They are excellent additions and the future of Carlaw is looking up.

Don't you just hate ppl who walk 20 miles in a day just to get y'all photo updates? I do!!! Esp when they use a cheap ass camera phone because it's raining out! :p

8 September 2012: Thank you Brad Lamb for creating some beautiful streetwall! The only thing I'm not impressed by is the window wall--a flush curve here on the flat iron point would be brilliant. I suppose understandable given the price point. Word on the street is those amazing eastern views from upper floors may be ____.;)

Of the two, Work Lofts doesn't work for me so much. I also don't like the city-mandated open space between the two buildings maintaining the old RR ROW. I'd like to see the streetwall continued and step down towards Boston--say from 6s to 3s.

Fussy balcony dictators will enjoy these photos:

The space between the buildings is not owned by Brad or the City, that is why it was not developed. I beleive Atria owns it.
