Toronto East Harbour GO & Ontario Line Station | 14.35m | 1s | Metrolinx | HDR

Fun Fact: I just found they will be closing the street again between April 11-13 for something else but not sure what. I suspect another pour.
Maybe for the Ontario Line tracks? Could be wrong, but tracing the future OL path from the Don bridge, I think the current bridge pour is just for the 3rd and 4th go tracks / platform

Looking at @kotsy aerial photos, you can see more of the bridge needs to be poured. It looks like they did half of the Ontario Line bridge. I have a ground photo as well from this morning...

I really hope that girder is somehow incorporated as a decorative focus inside the otherwise austere station! Would be super cool to have that old rusty girder hung up in a plain / modern setting to give some character and preserve some history at the same time!
I agree thar that would be a good idea but it does show how our 'standards' and expectations have sunk when an old beam MIGHT be enough to give a major train station some interest!

Cool photos of the pours… Does anybody have the technical explanation for why Eastern is being built so differently? Seems odd to have such differences between Eastern, Queen and Dundas/Logan? I get the bigger girders at Queen to support the upcoming station but why is Eastern fully concrete? Even the underneath is concrete…. More canvas for graffiti artists?

Looks like it's a two day affair. Police are still here and they finish tomorrow.

That second photo makes the road tunnel seem very low and claustrophobic. Will there be an opening to the station under here to make it feel a bit more open?

They have had the wood up there for so long that I'm not sure. I do know the Logan Bridge has a gap between the GO and Ontario line bridges. As for height, the image is deceptive, in the sense of perspective. The bridge will actually be high enough to clear a 18 wheeler, I think, once complete.

Regarding the Apr 11-13 closure: I think it's for this triangular shaped sliver that didn't get poured (highlighted in yellow), unless it was poured after I was there this morning. It doesn't appear to be have any rebar there so it's probably still to come. When you look at the map, it looks like everything that was poured this weekend is for GO tracks. The Ontario Line section has nothing built over the road yet and won't be ready for it's pour for awhile yet. It also shows on the map that there is a gap between the GO tracks section and the OL section and even a gap between OL tracks too. If the pour from this weekend seems too wide for GO tracks, remember that one of the Go platforms will stretch over Eastern and the other ends just at Eastern so the GO tracks on either side of that one will still be a platform width apart.

More bridge deck has been installed over the future Broadview extension, filling in the gap between first two sections.

Also of note, the triangular sliver I mentioned a couple days ago that was never poured for the Eastern bridge deck is still as such, so that will likely be done during the shut down next weekend.

Great shot! Really clarifies the station's track layout - new GO tracks on top of the new precast spans, platform stairs in the middle, OL tracks to come later on the supports on the left

Unless the plans have changed since the one in your previous post, I think it's just a support / work area, rather than a future deck area. If you look closely at the plan you can see road markings (i.e. a large gap) between the GO and OL bridges. The OL bridges also seem narrow enough they might be precast instead of poured

Yes, I saw this from Eastern earlier today as well. With better context of location, it is definitely an island platform canopy.

Also just noticed Kotsy’s birds-eye pic from Wednesday shows it:
Ys, it DOES look like a platform canopy but from the drone shot it seems VERY odd to me to be building the canopy before you build the platform. Also why would a canopy need such deep foundations??
