Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

It was built in 2000.

Which in Condoland is getting up there.

I don't agree with the exporpriation. If not already done, that building is likely to sink alot of money into the elevators and other repairs.

Having said that Lash is one of the best.

I wonder what caused the need for expropriation at such a late juncture

I wonder if it's just going to be the basement levels that are going to be expropriated. Like how they cut into the basement level of the Hudson Bay store at the Eaton Centre. Metrolinx may be chronically incompetent but surely they don't need to demolish entire condo towers to build things? (and if they do, their entire planning department should be fired).

Next time I see my friend who lives in that tower I'll have to ask him about it.

knowing mx and their whole thing with the leslieville guys and the "easement" thing. from 2021 im not suprised this happened. they take a confrontational approach sometimes

If it's just about underground level, and. there will be a new exit directly to distillery....then it can be considered a good move?

Where are all the emergency exit buildings on this line? On Eglinton Line 5 they seem to be about every 500m. My first thought included wondering if they would put an EEB here but I would think that works go closer to Trinity.

I would expect the expropriation not about demolition but rather being able to control the impacts to the building during construction. Any site access, bracing of the building, or shoring up building supports could require control of the situation and negotiating with a part time condo board everytime would slow down things considerably.

A friend lives in the building and thet did, in fact, receive notification about the situation today.

Doesn't look like they're tearing down the building in question here in the fine print. Rather underground potions of the same will be effected due to tunneling, I gather.

Pape / Bain and Pape / Sammon are 2 that I know of that are closest to me.
The 3rd and final EEB is at Ordinance Park in Liberty Village. If there they are putting an EEB here, that is something that wasn't announced previously.

I wonder if they are brushing up against the building and want to expropriate the property.

The parking garage at 1 Bedford is similar to this where the subway runs alongside it.
