For sure, I just mean when you add up the value of all the hours over 18 months that people spent in traffic, $73 is just pretty small.
So you save a few hours now but you will loose it in the coming years as more cars hit the roads and back to square one. Cities were not built for cars but people when there was no thing of a car or transit. Transit play a big part for building Toronto before and after the arrival of the cars. For sure, I just mean when you add up the value of all the hours over 18 months that people spent in traffic, $73 is just pretty small.
It's not like the capacity of the Skydome increases during the World Series. And extra media, etc., are hardly driving from Etobicoke. I don't see how two weekend games for two weekends should make much difference to anything. There's always stuff going on somewhere.I doubt they will close any major arterials this weekend or between October 30th to November 1st.
Both of those are home dates for the World Series and traffic will be bad.
These are exceptional circumstances.
I doubt anyone had Blue Jays going to the World Series on their bingo card when they scheduled things.

Ah ... yeah, that's a good point.Yes but this is not an average game.
There will be people coming from across town, out of town, etc to get Downtown for the game. There is also the Raptors Home Opener this Friday.
Think of it like when the Raptors went to the NBA Finals. The area around the stadium was a mess.
Literally every single ball game has this. There will be people coming from across town, out of town, etc to get Downtown for the game.
I would counter with the WS is slightly different. I'm making the trek in from Burlington with a group of buddies to watch the game at a bar with our Toronto friends. Something we would never do for a regular season ball game, leafs game, etcLiterally every single ball game has this.
At $1000/minimum for a ticket, it greatly ups the chance of people from further distances driving in, and especially those who may feel they're "better" than taking the GO/TTC.Literally every single ball game has this.

I would counter that it's not different. I know of people who came in from Belleville, Stoney Creek, Barrie and Woodstock for lowly regularly season games.I would counter with the WS is slightly different. Where do the crowds gather downtown for those 82 games?Literally every single ball game has this.
