And like all good Chicago scrapers - it has numerous floors of parking above ground, just pushing its total height that much higher.

(Great scot, where does that place Chicago Spire, which started this way in the earliest designs, then moved the parking to a separate tower, now has the parking several storey underground?)

It will be great to compare this tower with the other Shangri-las in Vancouver, Toronto, and elsewhere in NA when they are all complete in the next couple years. They are definitely entering the North American markets with a bang.

Oh, this is what the building was from the projects cancelled thread? Too bad, it looks really nice, and they didn't even get to put the cladding on it. I wonder what they'll do with it now??

Those are the parking levels. One reason why Chicago towers are so tall. First start with 12 floors of above ground parking.

I believe the project in question has been at a stop for many months due to the financial situation in the States.
