Toronto Ontario Line: Exhibition Station | ?m | 2s | Metrolinx | HDR

I've never seen anything about that bridge staying until the new station opens.
Hmm, I figured this meant the new bridge/concourse may open for public passage before it’s complete. I can’t see any reason to demolish the temple bridge any sooner.

Now looking at some of your previous drone shots, I’m seeing the biggest crane on rails would pass right through the space where the new street bridge will run (entering the concourse from the north). This makes me think that bridge section may be the last built structure. It’s all rather confusing especially with little info about TBM operations, I look forward to finding out more from the open house.

Exhibition TBM Launch Shaft/Portal. You can see an outline of where the TBMs will enter now.

I assume that by the time the world cup rolls around this place will still look like a complete mess, unfortunate they could not of started this portion sooner. Either way this station has been needed for a very long time now.

Unless there was suddenly a change of plans, the temporary bridge isn’t being removed until the new station bridge is open.

The new station is far to the east of the temporary bridge, they are on opposing sides of Atlantic ave.

I got confirmation on the weekend that the pedestrian bridge will indeed be open until the new station building opens for GO operations, which is expected for 2028/2029, and perhaps a bit after.

Great news. Thanks for finding out because the slide deck itself has very little new information.

Here’s a link for all from the Document Centre:

Just a couple photos worth highlighting, here’s the oddly deep foundation of the north entrance building:

This looks like it will be for storage of excavated spoils:

I noticed today that there is a number of piles driven into the ground in this area west of Strachan:

Anyone know what that is for? I imagine it's OL related but is on the wrong side of the rail corridor and seems generally odd..

Edit: it's actually visible in the back of this image:

That's the site of the traction power substation

Interesting. I was wondering what these foundations and columns would be used for. If it is going to serve as the muck pit(s), it's seemingly on the wrong end of the launching pit. I guess they will use an extensive conveyor belt system to haul it over here? For what it's worth, here's a tweet from the SkyTrain Broadway Subway Twitter about the 'muck pit' for storing the spoils before they are trucked away:

The SkyTrain Broadway Subway muck pit was located to the rear of the tunnel boring complex:

Also, if it's of interest, here's a good timelapse of the SkyTrain Broadway Subway tunnel boring machines being assembled and launched:

Worth noting that some earlier slide decks from MX suggested 2026/2027 for GO operations using at least the bare bones of the new station. So we're already behind.

In case anyone was wondering about that, FYI:

...and yes, it's in Vancouver.
