Finch West Line 6 LRT

This thing aint opening in October that's for sure.
Yes it's highly naive and ignorant to be saying it'll open by October 20th. Assuming the process for Line 6 is the same as Line 5, then there is a 14 day certification period after Revenue Service Demo is done. A bedding period of up to 90 days will follow after said certification period after which the line is considered Substantially Complete 100% as opposed to 99.9% like Eglinton has been stuck in since the dawn of time. We may be looking at anywhere between 45 to 134 days between September 20th and opening. Although I hope it opens sooner, I wouldn't hold my breath.

"Substantial Completion requires an Independent Certifier to confirm (or certify) that CTS has demonstrated the successful delivery of Line 5 to a level of completion suitable for revenue service, consistent with the requirementsin CTS’ contract with Metrolinx."

The bedding period seems to be after revenue service begins, so it's not entirely relevant for opening.
If you look at the screenshot I cited from the internal powerpoint, it appears that there is overlap, but that the bedding-in will in fact start before full revenue service.

ECLRT perhaps, but I don't think it's standard practice. I don't have a scedule for FLWRT but other ones I have, don't feature a lengthy bedding in period after RSD and before revenue service.
It is, in fact, standard practice in Toronto and all of Ontario now since the report on the public inquiry into the Ottawa LRT.
See for yourself:

Operators will be starting the demonstration also.

They're not. They're still working on stress testing the line - they can't even get all of the service that they want to run out on the line yet. Stress testing has only been going on for 2 weeks, and will continue until such a time that they can reliably run all of the service.

Little montage of some trains today, Sep 18.
Shot between 11:50 am and 12:41pm. Walked from Sentinal Rd to Jane Finch, then back again.
Each clip is a different train aside from the last two clips.
