The photo that's 80ft in the air? Are they supplying jet packs to get this view?
Hey pal, you just blow in from stupid town?
You can see the skyline from the ground.

To be fair, anything over a storey tall would block the view. I understand for some people, it's all parkland/no cars/no Therme.
I guess the saving grace is the view should still be possible from Inukshuk Park, or perhaps from the the garage (may even be superior given the elevation).

The long discussed alternative was a parking structure on the north side ofLake Shore Blvd, which would maintain a more welcoming continuous waterfront.
Quit straw manning. The argument applies widely to tons of sight lines, all which look better with anything other than a tall parking structure. Even just plain sky looks better.

I've not had to distort anything you've claimed. Just because you don't like your hyperbole being challenged doesn't make it a strawman.

I do agree placing it north of Lake Shore makes for a better layout, but this was about the sightline from the Remembrance Dr. being blocked by a structure.

If they must build a parking structure on the south side of Lake Shore (and I don't think they should), then they should switch its site with the proposed Science Centre. That way, (i) the parking structure would be a bit smaller but much closer to the spa (otherwise it'll be a long hike in the winter) and (ii) the Science Centre could be bigger and adjacent to the mainland. If you're going to have a hulking structure next to one of OP's showcase beaches, let it be something that at least has a chance of being architecturally distinguished

Almost anything Doug Ford does is to appease the automobile gods. Be it removing bicycle lanes, building the 413, building the 401 tunnel, lowering the gasoline taxes (having the non-auto users pay for the highways from general revenue), dropping license plate renewal fees, etc.. Now he wants a palace where his precious SUV can stay awhile, while he is at the new Ontario Place.
