If you don't want to splurge on a meal, there are plenty of people who just go to the bar at Canoe and have a drink after work. But you won't be right next to the window. If you go when they're not busy, they'll let you wander over to the windows, though.

I used to take my in-laws there sometimes during weekday afternoons for drinks alone, and it was not busy. We had multiple window options pretty much every time for a drink or two.
 
Was doing some plane spotting yesterday (as one does, right?) at Danville park, 6km west of the airport, right beside the 410 between the 401 and 407, and 24km away from downtown.

Firstly, One Yonge is now clearly visible immediately left of the CN tower (red band across the top), and it now has its own prominence in the skyline, using mountain terms.

Secondly, with over 30 floors still to go, my god this is going to dominate the skyline from literally every angle.

From that perspective the top of Sky Tower will look quite a bit shorter than CN Tower's observation deck (which it will match in reality), although the tower will still stand tall above the rest of the skyline.

It shouldn't be that different honestly, it's only about a kilometre farther away than the CN Tower. From this angle, it's actually almost the exact same distance as First Canadian Place, so it will appear slightly shorter than the top of the antenna.

Yup, it’s all about perspective. This shot is from the northwest, and the Sky Tower is both further east and south than the CN Tower is.
