Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Most of the underground stations on the Crosstown (and future Crosstown West) LRT will have two entrances. Will both of the entrances have elevators (and escalators), or only the main entrance?
If they don't have elevators, wait until 2026/27 for lawsuits start to fly to get one built, let alone the 2 that should be there on day one. If no elevator, it doesn't comply with AODA requirements for Dec 31, 2025 deadline. No idea on escalators until we see the stations in person or someone shows us plans or photo of what will be there for all entrances.

All stations will have at least two entrances/exits. Here's how many of the entrances will be accessible at each station. Really disappointing Metrolinx. Mount Dennis 3/3, Keelsdale 1/3, Caledonia 1/1, Fairbank 1/2, Oakwood 1/2, Cedervale (Eglinton West) 3/4, Forest Hill 1/2, Chaplin 1/3, Avenue 1/2, Eglinton 3/6, Mount Pleasant 1/2, Leaside 2/2, Laird 2/2, Science Centre 2/2, Kennedy 4/4

They are opening themselves up to a huge bill to comply with AODA requirements unless the government waves the requirements. Even then, there will be legal challenges to have all entrance comply with current AODA requirements. As for Keelesdale, there is 5 entrance with 2 having elevators that I know of. One is for the bus platform

Does the AODA mandate that EVERY entrance is accessible? I feel like even when they add elevators to older stations, they only do so to one of the entrances to the stations such as at Chester.

Caledonia going to be a problem. Caledonia Station is the deepest station, and there is a senior's residence near the western secondary entrance.

From link.

Now if the elevator(s) (or escalators) are out-of-service?

There lay the problem for accessibility riders having only one elevator. The hill between Keelesdale and Caledonia will be a bitch for people who don't have motorize equipment to move them or people with walkers that can't use escalators, especially in the winter months.

Now, if both Keeledale and Caledonia have no elevator, one hell of a trip from Dufferin Station.

These people have the same rights to use transit like we do, but they need more needs to do so.

Even if someone gets a temporary injury, would be better for more and better access.

If you ask me, I think the future 34 extended to Mt Dennis would be a better alternative for accessibility. You would avoid going through multiple elevators and stop closer to your destination.

Then they should have buses parallel to Line 2 (Bloor & Danforth) and Line 1 (Yonge).

Mississauga will have parallel bus service since the stops are to far apart and will help the elderly, accessibly rider to get to a stop or where they have to go along the line.

Source or link?
There is no source or links and has come up a number of times at meetings I attend for the LRT. I stand to be corrected. It has come up at council meetings as well and has been stated there would be bus service, but not at today levels. More like 15-20 minute service, but it will not be known until late 2023 or early 24 as what all service levels will be for Hurontario.
