Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The airport does 1.6 Million people, 600,000 people less than Billy Bishop in Toronto. It would be nice to have it going to the airport, right now there is no need.
Put the money into getting people from where they live to work and school today.

People actually do WORK at the airport AND the surrounding area. It is considered an employment area.

Shows it to be a center platform. Assuming that the rest of the below-grade or above-grade stations will be center platforms as well. There would be a cost savings in reducing the number of escalators and elevators needed. However, from experience, we have seen several times where the current (subway) stations having elevators (and escalators) out-of-service. The question I have, will there be duplicate facilities, in case of maintenance or other problems with the elevators (and escalators)?

Shouldn't be much of a problem with the at-grade stops. No elevators or escalators needed.

You kidding, TTC putting in more than one elevator per-platform?? Only look as far as the Spadina Extension to see no 2nd elevator, let all the elevators being install now or the last 10 year.

GO/Metrolinx only started to add 2 elevators to some station, but mostly are single and out of service every few days or weeks. Some have ramps outside the station leading to the tunnel, but only one elevator to the platform. They just rebuilt Burlington station that has 2 elevators in the station that has 2 tunnels, but only one elevator to the platform.

Can see the lawsuits come 2026 for these one elevators per platform.

Centre platforms are the way to go and need to be wider than existing ones.

what is the schedule for major work east of dvp? I was driving from 404 to warden and there was no major construction activity save cones that were lined along the road.
With 3 years to go I am starting to become concerned that they are either pushing it tight or they are already behind schedule? The viva ROW stretches even at their efficient
pace too 3 years from start. given that ect is much more involving since it is lrt on a well established road im not optimistic that they can deliver in time at this point.
It would seem like this is heading towards another construction management setback

edit: 404=> dvp

East of the 404? You mean DVP? Large scale construction begins this summer from my understanding. The work only takes 3 years IIRC, so it is starting later than the tunneled portion of the project. They have been doing utility relocates for a while now.

With the Crosstown LRT, they plan to have three (3) connections with GO trains. At Mt. Dennis (Kitchener Line), Caledonia (Barrie Line), and Kennedy (Stouffville Line).

According to the Relief Line North website (at this link), there is another GO Train line that was not considered.

Here is the current GO Train map for the Richmond Hill Line, from link:

The Richmond Hill Line passes the Crosstown LRT between the Wynford & Sloane stops. While they may not require a connection in 4 years time, they should make a provision for a further connection in a decade or two, between the LRT and the Richmond Hill GO train.

After first getting a better connection at the Richmond Hill Oriole GO Station and the Leslie Subway Line 4 Station, of course.

Richmond Hill GO is not getting AD2W soon. So a connection to Crosstown is not a priority.
