As sales continue for Cityzen and Fernbrook's St. Lawrence Condos, we continue to learn more about the planned 26-storey, architectsAlliance-designed condo development at the corner of Front and Sherbourne Streets. On a recent visit to the project's Front Street East presentation centre, we covered the space's major features, as well as a detailed look at the two-bedroom model suite on display. Now, we are returning for a look at the project's scale model, which provides buyers with insight into the design of the paired condominium towers, as well as a glimpse into the project's outdoor amenity spaces.

Rising from a shared podium structure spanning the full length of the block between Sherbourne and Frederick Streets, the towers will feature a massing of stacked and shifted volumes. The podium volume will be finished in a dark brick finish, creating a sense of continuity with the architectural language of the surrounding St. Lawrence and King East districts.

Above the podium, the offset cubes of the two towers are punctuated by a grid of white projecting frames that add visual interest and texture through shadowing, while at the same time improving the thermal performance of the condominium units within. During the summer when the sun is high in the sky, the projecting frames will cut down on direct sunlight into the suites which could overheat them, while during the winter when the sun is lower, less of the direct light will be blocked.

The scale model also shows the two podium-top amenity spaces nestled between the towers. In the image below, the 10th floor features a terrace with lounging space, while the 14th floor upper amenity terrace boasts an outdoor lap pool and sunbathing areas.
