This week's Throwback Thursday takes us to Fort York Boulevard, just west of Bathurst Street in Toronto's Bathurst-Fort York neighbourhood. Back on February 27, 2006, it would have been difficult to even call this area of the city a neighbourhood, though a wave of redevelopment was looming on the horizon. At this time, the view south looked clear through the elevated Gardiner Expressway, with the space beneath occupied by a number of truck trailers.

Fast forward to April 2015, and the southwest corner of Bathurst and Fort York is now occupied by The Onni Group's The Garrison at The Yards. Completed in 2013, the 12-storey Wallman Architects-designed condominium development has added 248 homes to what is now a rapidly growing community. The surrounding blocks have since filled out with other residential developments, including Quartz at Concord CityPlace, a 41-storey condominium tower by Concord Adex, visible on the left in the image below.
