As construction progresses on the 8.6 kilometre extension of the TTC's University Line to Vaughan, a number of developments promise to form a new downtown around the new terminus. The blocks surrounding the future Vaughan Metropolitan Centre are beginning to fill out with the first wave of construction projects, while a more developments in planning promise further growth at the new node. One of the latest to capitalize on this area's future vitality is Plaza and Berkeley's The Met, a 35-storey, Quadrangle Architects-designed condominium tower coming to the intersection of Highway 7 and Jane Street.

The Met will contain a mix of 511 condominium and townhome units. The project offers one and two-bedroom units ranging from 510 ft² to 875 ft² in size, as well as a collection of three-bedroom townhome units ranging between 1,250 and 1,490 ft². The mix of thoughtfully-arranged compact suites, larger suites, and spacious townhomes will provide lifestyles ranging from new home owners to established families.

Among the 1 bedroom + den offerings, layout 1D2-C offers a 611 ft² living area. This layout features a combined kitchen/living/dining room, a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, a second bathroom, and a den. Windows and a balcony span the length of the combined kitchen/living/dining area, allowing for an abundance of natural light.

The development's two bedroom + den configurations will offer larger layouts, including the 875 ft² 2D-E model. This configuration places the master bedroom and second bedroom at opposite ends of the unit for increased privacy, with each having easy access to a bathroom. A combined living/dining/kitchen area will be the unit's main living space, while an adjacent den will provide a quieter and cozier environment.
