With all but the last units sold, North Star Homes' ConneXion is set to go under construction on Etobicoke's Fieldway Road. As of late last month, only 4 of the project's 150 units remained available, and the sales centre has now been demolished to make way for the TACT Architecture-designed townhouses.

The demolition of the sales centre is allowing for the site to be cleared in advance of construction, with six stacked townhouse buildings now set to add modest density to the area. The stacked townhouse configuration—and simple brick exterior—is scaled to meet the neighoubrhood's existing low-rise context, while bringing new residents to the growing neighbourhood.

Located within walking of distance of Islington Station in Etobicoke's Six Points area, the project is joining a quickly growing part of the city. However, with much of Toronto's—and indeed, Etobicoke's—new housing coming in the form of high-rise towers, ConneXion is among the select developments that are introducing urban density on a more intimate scale.

Characterized by a modern masonry facade that fits in to the surrounding streetscape, the exterior will feature all-clay brick and stucco board elevations, as well all thermal glazed doors on all patios and balconies. Maintenance-free vinyl casement windows also serve to create an energy-efficient envelope, lowering overall heating and cooling costs. The project also features an underground garage (with guest parking), as well as professionally landscaped grounds.

Suites will feature a 'TJ Silent Flooring System,' which is designed to provide sound-insulated and private interiors, with additional sound insulation also installed between floors and in party walls. Aesthetically, interiors will be characterized by 9' ceilings on each unit's first and second floors, while a choice of kitchen cabinetry, countertops, and bathroom ceramics, allows suites to be customized to meet buyers' individual tastes.

We will keep you updated on ConneXion as construction gets underway and the project begins to make its mark on the area. In the meantime, additional information and renderings can be found in our dataBase file for the project, linked below. Want to get involved in the discussion?
