Work continues at the site of BazisMetropia and RioCan's E Condos, a new two-tower Rosario Varacalli-designed condominium development under construction at the high-profile intersection of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue in Midtown Toronto. The project's excavation progressed significantly over the course of the summer, culminating in the installation of a tower crane for the project's 58-storey south tower last week.

The installation of the tower crane at one of central Toronto's most vital intersections has been turning heads this week, and soon, the rise of E Condos' skyscraping south structure will soon be stoking the curiosity of passersby, especially once the building hits the 25th floor with its cantilevered swimming pool.

While the south tower is under way, the original design for the north tower has changed. With the purchase of the next property to the east and a subsequent increase to the north tower's number of suites, a re-design of that tower will bring about a larger floor plate. Though we are still awaiting finalized details of the tweaked design, the revised north tower is expected to reach a height of 112 metres, and contain approximately 450 residential rental units over 38 storeys. For now, shoring and excavation work continues at the site of the north tower, where two former apartment buildings stood until very recently.
