It's time again for our Photo of the Month, where we present the highest rated Photo of the Day selection of the previous 4 weeks, along with the runner up, based on combined Facebook shares and Twitter re-tweets.

As the weather heats up, more and more photographers are out on the streets capturing photos of our city, and we have noticed a pronounced increase in the amount of uploads for the month of June. Out of the many images submitted to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool, the very best make it onto our front page. While our Photo of the Day selections for this month included a variety of styles and subject matter, two very similar photos managed to take the most popular spots for June, both showing off the Toronto skyline at sunset.

The most popular image of the month, submitted by Ben Roffelsen, was captured from Polson Pier, easily the most popular skyline vantage point in the city. This shot shows off a dramatic sunset as heavy clouds loom over the skyline.

Our runner-up for June is another skyline shot captured at sunset, submitted by Sanjay Chauhan. The 60-second exposure gives the harbour a silky texture, while allowing the clouds to spread across the sky.

Special thanks to all of the talented photographers who submitted images over the course of June, and we are looking forward to what you come up with in July!
