Toronto is known as the North American city with the biggest number of highrises under construction, surpassing New York City by almost 50%.

The real estate listings portal Point2 Homes has compiled a series of slideshows that compare the Toronto of 2007 with the Toronto of 2013 in some of the city’s hotspots. The images highlight the dramatic changes that have been going on in the last years in the Toronto real estate landscape. Click and drag the arrows over the images to see the changes.

1. York Street

Maple Leaf Square, Ice Condominiums and the PwC Tower completely changed the landscape on York Street.

2. Harbour Street

Harbour Plaza Residences and Ice Condominiums mask the CN tower from this viewpoint on Harbour Street.

3. Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residences and The Florian

The snapshots taken from Davenport Road show the Four Seasons Hotel, located at the intersection of Bay Street and Yorkville Avenue, and the Florian, a 25-storey condo building.

4. Bay Adelaide Centre and Trump International Hotel & Tower

The Trump International Hotel & Tower rises to 925 feet, while the Bay Adelaide Centre is 715 feet tall. The snapshots are taken from Adelaide Street.

5. Burano & Murano

Burano (on the right) and Murano (on the left), were finished in 2012 and 2010 respectively. They are part of the building buzz going on on Bay Street.

6. Shangri-La Hotel

The Shangri-La Hotel, which was finished in 2012, is 705 feet tall. The snapshots are taken from University Avenue.
