Since opening in 2010, the artificial "Sugar Beach" has become a well-visited waterfront hangout. Located next to Corus Quay, and across the Jarvis Slip from the Redpath Sugar Refinery, Sugar Beach offers a great mix of urban and natural beauty that keeps visitors coming back. In today's Photo of the Day, which was submitted to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool by Ben Roffelsen, we are given a taste of the juxtaposition between recreational and industrial found at Sugar Beach, as the public space's distinctive pink umbrellas stand before the backdrop of a lake freighter.
