The 2014 opening of the new Aga Khan Museum and Ismaili Centre added an important cultural and architectural landmark to our city. The museum portion of the complex, designed by architect Fumihiko Maki of Maki and Associates, was inspired by the geometric patterns of ornamentation featured in Islamic architecture. In today's Photo of the Day, which was submitted to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool by Peter Crock, the museum's canted Brazilian granite walls reflect beautifully against the courtyard's large reflecting pool.
