One of Toronto's most beloved architectural treasures, the historic Commerce Court North is now dwarfed by the modern high-rises of Toronto's Financial District. While most downtown office-dwellers are familiar with the Depression-era Art Deco tower on King Street east of Bay, knowledge of its long-since-closed observation deck is less universal. In today's Photo of the Day, which was submitted to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool by Giulio Calisse, we are given a close-up view of the one of sixteen carved stone heads that watch over the city from Commerce Court North's mothballed observation deck.
