We have been closely following the construction of Studio and Studio2 on Richmond, a new twin-towered condominium development by Aspen Ridge Homes rising in Toronto's Entertainment District. The Quadrangle Architects-designed project consists of 'Studio'; a 31-storey tower with 337 residential units, and Studio2 a 41-storey tower with 425 units. In total, Studio and Studio2 will add over 750 luxury condominium units to one of the city's most rapidly intensifying areas.
In the image above, we can see that a reflective blue glazing with silver spandrel accents is currently being installed on the 31-storey Studio - the development's north tower fronting onto Richmond Street. The silver spandrels and glazing are being framed in thin mullions, creating a very contemporary look for Studio. In the image below, we zoom in for a closer look at the cladding.
A similar cladding is also being installed on the project's mid-rise building, which fronts onto Nelson Street on the south side of the project.
To the immediate west, construction is now under way on the second floor of the 41-storey Studio2.
Studio is centrally located in the downtown core, within walking distance to shops and restaurants along Queen Street, and the bustling University Avenue to the east. For those taking transit, Studio is also a short walk to Osgoode subway station and the 501 Queen streetcar line. Amenities at Studio will include 24-concierge and security, gym, sauna, and roof deck. Studio will also include 8,000 square feet of space for OCAD University students, expanding their campus southwards of the Sharp Centre For Design a few blocks north.
