For a while now developers Bazis and Plaza have been slowly releasing renderings showing off bits and pieces their daring 1 Yorkville condominiums, which always keep us asking for more! more! The textural quality to the exterior and some of the "out there" amenities have caught our imagination, and the latest batch of renderings quench our desire (for now) as they detail the luxurious lobby and provide an aerial view of the gorgeous spa pool amenities.
1 Yorkville’s ribbons of faceted metal run up the façade of the building - a look architect Rosario Varacalli calls “3D wallpaper”, creating a highly dynamic cladding as light and shadows transform it, providing an ever-changing object throughout the day on the area's skyline. These ribbons run unimpeded to the ground, and in front of the lobby facade - a space usually punctuated and made to stand out. This design imparts the impression of a veiled, members-only entry to this distinctive building which can only up its allure.
The atmosphere of the lobby is not too far removed from the likes of that of the Toronto-Dominion Centre, where upon entering you are greeted with a clean, minimalist space, high ceilings and clad in a rich marble. The building’s sculptural aesthetic continues into the lobby with the large, faceted concierge desk and abstract hanging fixture.
Atop the Yorkville Village heritage buildings that form 1 Yorkville’s podium will be the fourth and fifth floors, which will host the spa and pool lounge area. Residents of 1 Yorkville will enjoy a myriad of opulent amenities on this floor; an outdoor pool with cabana islands, a hot tub, cold and hot plunge pools, a steam room and an Aqua Massage are all featured and will provide the perfect space to unwind during the summer months.
Head on over to 1 Yorkville’s dataBase file, linked below, for higher-res renderings of the podium spa and pool lounge area, and for images of the complex's tower-top amenities too… and stay tuned as more renderings are sure to be released.
