As demolition work continues in advance of excavation and construction, Concert Properties’ downtown residential development 88 Scott has seen a surge in unit sales from the recent launch of their ‘Award Series’ condominium units. Occupying floors 33 to 52 of the 58-storey Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects-designed tower, the 90 new Award Series suites are the result of splitting 45 large two-bedroom suites into one-bedroom units. The Award Series suites were conceived based on buyer and market feedback as well as an opportunity to capitalize on 88 Scott’s recent BILD Award for “Best Suite Design under 750 Square Feet”.

With the floorplates being broken up to allow more units, the 480 total units previously planned for the development has been upped to 523 units. So far, the Award Series suites have been a huge success, selling over 70 of the 90 newly released units within 2 months. This puts 88 Scott over the 80% sold mark, an impressive milestone especially when considering the addition of several dozen condominium units to the plan.

The Award Series suites come in a range of sizes, with one bedrooms varying between 595 and 762 square-feet, and a select number of two bedroom units sizing in at 1045 square-feet. In the floorplan visible below, we can see the layout of a 762 square-foot 1 bedroom+den unit.

The growing trend of young professionals taking up residence close to their places of work in the downtown core is keeping demand high for one-bedroom condominiums, and chic amenity spaces like 88 Scott’s Sky Lounge do their part in catering to the young, hip market. The split-level, 2,000 square-foot Sky Lounge planned for 88 Scott’s 46th and 47th floors will boast breathtaking city views, as well as a fireplace, lounge, bar, dining room, kitchen and party room.

Families are not left out of the 88 Scott plans: a full 10% of the building's suites remain as 3-bedroom units. The larger suites will suit those with the means to raise a family in the core of the country's most dynamic city, or those who want both extra space and the centre-of-it-all location.
