Just shy of the UrbanToronto offices on Adelaide Street East lies the construction site for Plaza's Ivory On Adelaide. Our up-close and personal view of the project means we've been watching the large pit in the ground get shallower over the past few months as it has been filled up with the garage levels. This week, Ivory On Adelaide is closing in on a significant milestone in the construction process: the tops of the walls and pillars of B1 have touched ground level, preparing the way for the ground floor slab to be poured next week.

Ivory is heading for a total of 22 storeys. This 358-unit development focuses on the refined comfort, featuring a calming entryway and manicured plaza that inserts trees and a reflecting pool as a touch of zen. As for the structure itself, architects from Hariri Pontarini use ivory-coloured surfaces and accents to characterize the structure, details which add a syncopated rhythym to the building's exterior.

Along with condominum suites, Ivory will add three retail units at ground level along Adelaide when this development is completed by late 2014.
