Downtown is not the only area seeing massive towers sprout up along its throughfares these past few years. Along with other urban nodes in the GTA, the transportation hub and cultural crossroad of North York centred around Yonge and Sheppard is also seeing change come swiftly. This change is being ushered in with projects like Metropia, Bazis and Plazacorp's Emerald Park. Located Just north of Sheppard on Yonge, this two tower complex plans to rise  32 and 42 storeys in the sky. At present, one tower has reached ground level while the other is not far behind. Emerald Park is not the only major project rising on this strip. The Hullmark Centre which is set to rise 49 and 35 storeys above a massive podium is also making it mark on this former suburban stretch.

Designed by Roy Varacalli, Emerald Park will add 550 residential units to the neighbourhood with amenities such as a 24-hour concierge, gym, guest suite and the very important swimming pool. As well as adding new residential density to this mixed-use neighbourhood, Emerald Park will contain retail space in its podium. The project completion date is set for later in 2013, but in the meantime check out the rendering below to see these towers at their full height.
