The revitilization of Toronto's Lawrence Height's neighborhood (dubbed Regent Park North) has now been given visual representation; project architects &Co have created massing models for the new development, which, while not providing an idea of the building's designs, shows the expected height, density and placement of the new developments.

An emphasis on ensuring the area has adequete recreational space is clearly communicated through the abundance of green space in the rendering. The render also alludes to how density will be clustered alongside the Allen Road, and at the intersection of Lawrence Avenue and Allen Road. This leaves plenty of space for lower density townhouses bordering the surrounding single family home neighborhoods.

We're excited to see the revitilization of Lawrence Heights moving along; the project has seen plenty of debate around the potential long-term relocation of area residents, and we can assume that this plan is taking into account residents needs for a more transit-friendly, street-level oriented neighborhood. It also provides a great opportunity to put into motion many of the past decade's advancements in sustainable building design within a community-housing context.
