A thread was recently opened up in the UrbanToronto forum for a possible new office tower in North York City Centre on land which is believed to be owned by OMERS, which is the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System. There is very little information on the project outside of links to the following renderings found on the site of New York City designer Michael Klausmeier. Lack of information aside about the 25-storey building, it is clear that this location is obviously the southwest corner of Yonge and Sheppard, and that if OMERS is the landowner, the developer would be Oxford Properties, the fund's real estate arm.

The original renderings indicate the designs are by KPF or Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates which happens to be a client of Michael Klausmeier. KPF were involved with the design of the recently completed Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto

Yonge and Sheppard is finally starting to take off as empty lots are developed. To the east of this site is Tridel and Hullmark's Hullmark Centre, while south of this site is Bazis, Metropia and Plazacorp's Emerald Park. This would certainly be one parking lot that we would like to see go. We'll let you know when we get more details about whether this project is actually in the works.
