Concord Adex's landmark CityPlace community continues to expand, and their latest development, Spectra, aims to bring a veritable rainbow of stylish and vibrant colour to an otherwise monochromatic neighbourhood.
With architecture by Raw Design, Spectra's 39-storey glass tower is offset with bursts of bold colour that energize the façades of the structure. Additionally, Spectra's bright and airy lobby features an extremely striking interior wall utilizing the same vibrant colours that are prominent on the exterior glass facade:
Spectra comes as a sister-development to Concord Adex's Quartz, which rises from the ground like a glimmering crystalline jewel. Residents of both Spectra and Quartz will be able to exercise and relax at The Prisma Club, an amenity centre shared by the two developments, featuring a movie theatre, gym, game room, party room, swimming pool, and even a pet spa. The Prisma Club sheilds the inner courtyard from the sounds of the nearby Gardiner Expressway, offering a quiet cocoon between the buildings.
Spectra also features a unique DTAH Architects-designed "Spectra-themed" rooftop garden, where a plethora of chromatically arranged flowers, grasses, bushes, and trees take the place of more conventional plantings.
The key to Spectra's unique design is its use of stylish and dynamic colour that is otherwise absent from many downtown Toronto developments. With a sudden burst of energy, Spectra is seemingly born out of a prism of Quartz -- pretty nifty marketing strategy at the hands of Concord Adex, if you ask me! Occupancy at Spectra, which will be built concurrently with Quartz, is expected to start in December 2014.
