The northwest corner of St. Clair Avenue West and Weston Road is about to get a 650,000 square foot big box retail centre called The Stockyards. Trinity Development Group has employed Greenberg Farrow architects to bring a more pedestrian and street friendly version of the open shopping centre to the west end of the city than traditional big box centres such as the one directly to the south. While the existing Home Depot treats St. Clair like its back alley, The Stockyards will bring life to the street with windows, doors, and colourful signage. Here's an early video of what to expect.

Due to open in the fall of 2012, the centre has already signed up a number of retailers, including the Royal Bank, PetSmart, Linen Chest, Bouclair, Shoe Company, Boston Pizza, Marshalls, Best Buy, Michaels, HomeSense, and a GoodLife Fitness club.
