Seventy5 Portland Street, the Freed Developments project designed by Philippe Starck's architectural practice 'Yoo' in association with Core Architects, has been undergoing a paint job for three months now. UrbanToronto member SpadinaBus tells us that DuoChem Duroplast 200, an acrylic paint, is being applied to the bare concrete, although the manufacturer recommends using a primer first.

While it is difficult to definitively declare from this render whether the building was originally meant to have a bare concrete finish, or be painted, the painting now being finished is hiding a stained and rough concrete finish. From a distance, the building certainly looks much cleaner than when concrete forming was completed.
