Is the Province of Ontario planning for a new office tower at 880 Bay Street? It is according to a rezoning application request that went to the City on January 29, 2010. According to forum member Northern Light:

"The Rezoning request has gone to the City as at Jan. 29/2010 - 39-storey government office tower. Details Below: Mods may wish to add 39 Storey to the thread title. The plan is for a 39 storey office tower. It would replace this current 6 storey government building.

Apparently the Ontario Public Service is very short on office space and leases are up soon at various locations. This would be a good way to consolidate different offices in one location. Good to see more office space coming to the core. And another two thumbs up for Bay and College. This area will have completely transformed itself in less than a decade.
