I bought a new wide angle lens for my Nikon D40 and took it out for a quick test this afternoon. Nothing fancy but thought I'd share.

I wish I had a wide angle. Which lens did you get?

It's a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6

I don't know what any of that means but the reviews were all really positive so I figured I'd take the plunge.

It's hard to tell what is distortion and what is just the buildings in Amsterdam leaning.

I also bought a new Coolpix L12 on sale so that I would have a smaller camera to carry around with me at all times.

The pics look good. Every wide-angle lens has some distortion, even the kit lens that comes with the D40. The distortion here looks minimal, and definitely acceptable for the awesome effect the wide angle gives. If you really wanted, it could be corrected with a photo editor anyway.
