Hey guys, I've been going crazy trying to find a drafting chair that I thought I'd find at just about any office supply or furniture store. Yet, after going all over West Queen West and Liberty Village nobody has them. Most people look confused when I explain what I'm looking for. Had it not been for seeing these chairs online after googling "Drafting Chairs" I would have been convinced by now that this thing doesn't exist!

A drafting chair is an office chair at bar stool height. Here's an example:

I believe it will likely be found at a store that sells architecture supplies but I don't know of any in Toronto. I'm heading to King East today. Anywhere I can look?

wow... I spent 5hrs in and around King East today and found nothing. Are there no architect equipment stores in
Toronto? We have a very healthy architecture scene in this city. These professionals and students have to get their equipment from somewhere...

Curry's?

Curry's didn't have them. Thanks victor. I Googled Gabriel Ross but it looks like they're based out of Victoria, BC. Is there a showroom in Toronto? I've found some nice options online but I want to try it before buying. It's very important that I feel comfortable because I'm buying this chair to replace an uncomfortable bar stool that I've been using for too long. There could be nothing worse than spending $1000 to replace an uncomfortable chair with another uncomfortable chair.

I was sure GR had a showroom here in Toronto. But now I can't find it...

There are similar chairs from Herman Miller though they are pricey.
Here is a list of Toronto retailers who sells HM's chairs, and some of them have Knoll's chairs as well.

Design Within Reach website lists your Knoll High Task Chair so it's worth it to check their store.

Thanks Victor, you're the best! I'll check them all out tomorrow.

I had set aside what I thought was a pretty healthy budget ($500) but those Herman Miller chairs are looking mighty comfortable... then again, at $1100 though, they better be!

There's a drafting supply store on the east side of Church south of Dundas, or at least there was one there a couple years ago when I went there to buy my scale rulers.

Are drafting chairs commonly used? I've always stood at the drafting board and never thought to get a chair because I like being able to move around quickly (tho I tend to be a little spastic about such things). Then again I only spend short bursts there, so it isn't like I'm there on my feet day in and day out.
