Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

It's remotely possible that it could connect to today's GEXR train to Stratford, but more likely that it would wait in Mac Yard for tomorrow's train.

The local that runs up the Elmira branch only works Monday-Thursday evenings, so delivery is likely Monday night....unless someone wants it safely in the OMSF before then and orders a special move.

The unloading ramp needs to be set up at the Maintenance Facility, that is likely a Monday task. So best guess for unloading seems to be Tuesday.

The car arrived at Mac Yard at 9.00am this morning.

The ramp is being set up on Monday, with the current expectation of a Tuesday delivery and off-loading.

Do they have any actual construction left? Or just delivery and testing of the LRVs?
Construction is 99% complete, but there are a lot of little details all along the line that still need remediation. Largely these affect pedestrians and the transit agency GRT, and are therefore not important enough to receive any priority, and so glaring issues have dragged on for months.

(Can you tell, I'm a little bitter)

I'm not sure that's entirely true.

My friend was pulled off of the signalling job, but from when he as last there the understanding is that they're still well behind on it. The next time I meet him for a beer I'll ask him if he's gotten any updates on it.

most of the signalling work requires working vehicles to test and adjust. now that they have one, the signalling work will progress at a faster pace.

I rounded down from GrandLinq's own statement (in July):
http://www.570news.com/2017/07/28/grandlinq-says-99-5-done-work-needed-get-ion-running/
GrandLinq says they are about 99.5 per cent done the work needed to get the ION up and running.

In other news, we got the second LRV delivered up to Waterloo last night!

I did a live stream on facebook, doing a chasecam on my bicycle: (30 minutes!)

The LRV is being unloaded at the maintenance facility this morning as I type.

People have way too much spare time to follow a train just to record the second LRV arriving (been done for the first). I’m not hating btw, just a comment.

"This overall" includes me. You cannot exempt me.

Are you sure that a transportation enthusiast forum is the right place to complain about people being enthusiastic about transportation?
I’m sorry for being inappropriate. Come to think of it, I would have done something similar if I lived in the area. I don’t know why I’m complaining o_O
