While fare integration may well happen before the end of the decade, I don't think anyone believes there will be fare unification, even in the City of Toronto. You might well be able to ride from Exhbition to Union one day for the same as a TTC fare. I doubt you'd ever be able to ride on GO the 40 km from Long Branch to Rouge Hill for that fare.

A Metropass or token or whatever and one can board the GO train {or bus} within Toronto and just use POP like the new streetcars.
Toronto could raise the taxes needed and give it to Metrolinx and then anyone with a paid TTC ticket can take the train. It doesn't have to wait for Presto. If City Hall had the balls, they could raise the taxes immediately and Torontonians could be enjoying great GO service now with their TTC pass.

Again, how would you show proof of purchase if you have a token?
