Seems like it's been a while since the last delivery eh? Is the rate actually slowing down?
I can't believe it's been more than two years and we only have 8. Ridiculous

just looked at service summary. No 510 past Queens Quay Loop during the games anyway. Transfer to 509 it says. 509/511/510 all supposedly with some LFLRVs... Get well soon 4404!
Edit: correction to above - no LFLRVs listed for 511. Misread that somehow
Edit2: thoroughly confused. I did see LFsc for 511 on page 4 but only CLRVs for another version of 511 on page 12!
There are certainly problems, but it's only about 13 months since the first car (4403) was delivered, and less since it was accepted by TTC.I can't believe it's been more than two years and we only have 8. Ridiculous

so is the TTC supposed to cancel the order from Bombardier and go to some else which means we have to wait for however long it takes for them to start up a production line or them?

That would be one option. If Bombardier is delinquent in their contract, the city could sue, fine or walk away. However, seeing the province pushed the city to go with Bombardier so they can show job creation in Thunder Bay, they might have some protection in the contract that if anything went wrong they couldn't be sued as protection.
I have no idea what the TTC should do.
I just wanted to say we need to stop making excuses for Bombardier.
I really don't think that's going to happen unless they don't deliver by the end of the year. I don't see how the city or TTC could win a lawsuit over this Bombardier hasn't really done anything. The strike was not there fault they couldn't predict how long it would take. The rest was either because of design changes by the TTC or parts problems that could happen to any company.
As soon as people started voicing concern about the disgraceful number of new streetcars we have, I knew we could count on nfitz with a contrarian view and acceptance of mediocrity.
I don't see any acceptance of mediocrity in his post....what I see is a statement of the actual facts....facts that include at least one that is more negative than the op on the subject.
If, in your world, facts = contrarian view then I think you will disagree with a lot of stuff posted here.
Yes he presented facts. He also presented an interpretation of the facts by saying it has "only" been 13 months since 4403 was delivered. And also by saying "there are certainly problems, but".
Using the words "only" and "but" are akin to saying that a mediocre delivery rate of 6 cars in 13 months is acceptable.
It is not.
Just ask Andy Byford.
Hang on. I didn't say it's acceptable. It's not acceptable, and Bombardier needs to fire more people. As soon as people started voicing concern about the disgraceful number of new streetcars we have, I knew we could count on nfitz with a contrarian view and acceptance of mediocrity. As I read the messages I knew he would be back to reassure us it is not so bad.

However, that doesn't mean it's okay to tell mistruths.
