trouble posting

For some reason when I want to post a reply in a discussion thread it presents a page simlar to a posting page but I have to input my user name and add a new subject line. I cannot just reply to an existing message. Then I cannot edit it afterwards. (I posted a test in one disussion forum meaning to edit it afterwards but it will not let me do so)
Anyone else having this problem?

ok for some reason I was logged out but still able to post with limited capabilities. Now I have logged in again and it works fine.

I have had similar problems, intermittently, of late.

Sometimes the "Last Comment" field lists postings ( and times for those postings ) that are not visible.

Usually happens when a mod deletes a post, or someone edited their post somewhere in the thread.

yes I remember it logging me out sometimes but this was different...now I would have to log in to make a post..from the posting screen itself. It happened again tonight, so I just go to the forum home and log in again and then it is fine again (for a while).
