Uh, you don't need to buy bottled water anyway. TO water is fine. The building-wide filter going into the other project is a ploy that plays on the paranoia of certain people. Why are you going on and on about it in this thread? 4 posts in total, 3 here, and the other post is in the Allure thread. I thinks I smells a rat.

Dear Smells Like a Rat

You've got me. The reason we are so excited by the new water system that some of the better builders offer is from long experience and first hand knowledge.
Thirty years as a chemical engineer will teach one more than they should know about such things.
Oh to be 20 something and ignorant about most things. Enjoy it while you can get away with it.
As to water you may want to do just a modicum of research before you rest on your opinions.
Good luck in your sales at this Minto building.Maybe they'll catch up to others later on?

lovinto .... I don't know what ties you may have with Greenpark (if any) or negative experiences with Minto, but you seem to dwell on this 'water purification system' as the single most important feature in condominium living ... I respectfully disagree with you opinion in this matter

More importantly .... in no way AT ALL is Greenpark even close to being comparable to Minto (known for it quality built products), whereas Greenpark builds poor quality subdivision houses (in my experience), so to judge Greenpark as one of the 'better builders' simply because of the water purification system that it offers and promotes would be pre-mature at best

I have full confidence in Minto and I'm sure many well versed in the market would feel the same way, given the location I think the project would do quite well since many empty nesters would like to downsize while staying in their Thornhill neighbourhood

In passing the site this past week I have noticed that the yellow brick building to the north of the Thornhill Village Plaza is surrounded by fencing with signage indicating the building is to be moved.

The plaza is of course to be demolished for the development, but this building is apparently of historic value. The company doing the work is listed as a specialist in historic restoration or for moving of historic buildings. In the recent election, the building served as the offices of Peter Kent.

On the first page of this thread in a couple of the pictures that were posted by Klieg you can see the building at the far (north) end of the plaza, (separated from the plaza by a laneway).

In reply to my own post, a little internet research turned up a Minto blog on the Water Garden project.

It seems that Minto is overseeing this work on the Robert Cox House, which is the name of this historic home in Thornhill. Their report was posted October 7; it can be found at http://condoblog.minto.com/2011/10/work-begins-at-minto-watergarden-moving.html. The house is being deconstructed and moved only a little distance north and east to accommodate their work.

There are a number of pictures of the activity on the house at this website.

More work being on the Robert Cox house. Workers have dug around the foundation.

From November 14th:

Not much reporting on this one since November; the Robert Cox house has now been lifted and moved forward on the site. (no pics for now)

Several of the stores in the plaza that is to be replaced are vacant, but at least three others are still in business (including the animal hospital).

The plaza is now vacated, the fencing was being put in place around it this morning.

City of Vaughan staff were working around the front of the Robert Cox house at the north end of the property.

It appears demolition of the plaza should begin soon.

As of March 9th.

I thought that there might have been more progress on this.

The site looks the same as it did on Thursday morning with one unit down.
