It's fantastic to see this sort of mixing of uses. It makes neighbourhoods more vibrant and walkable. But this project was also a huge missed opportunity to make the Railpath more vibrant and attractive by having some storefronts facing it and attractive architectural details and art. Instead, all we got was a utilitarian back wall. The Railpath adds so much value to the neighbourhood. It deserved more than what it got.
I can see through units, but I don't think there'd be much take up in Railpath-only-facing units. It certainly could use some livening up on the west side though.

I agree. Through units would be good. I could see a bike shop or coffee shop working facing the Railpath only, though. People are constantly walking, jogging, and cycling by throughout the day. There's excellent pedestrian and cyclist traffic on the Railpath, especially in the morning as people use the path as part of their commute.

Yup, really a failure of planning that this was allowed to have a utilitarian cinderblock-and-graffiti facade facing the railpath, while the relatively "designed" side faces an internal street that sees probably 10% of the 24-hour traffic that the railpath has.

I also was dismayed when they flattened the hills on the Railpath next to this place. I think "drainage" was the reasoning....
