I was thinking something similar, except that I would have preferred a bolder colour. Or even a bright primary red at the bottom that faded to white as it reached the top

For me, it's not the precast that's the problem. I don't love the pale salmon colour, but neither do I find it offensive. It's the huge amount of spandrel which makes me queasy. The east side silhouette on its own—especially when there's less light in the sky—is handsome even, but crank up the ambient light so that you get a good look at the window wall details? Urrrrp.
